The best I can do is come storming back down the hallway mumbling about, “Freakin’ socks and this house.”
You never realize how much of your life isn’t kid friendly until you find yourself tasked with being friendly to kids.
I thought to myself, “Well, that was different. I guess that’s who I am now.”
We were angry over-reactors literally headbutting the walls at the bar. Every glance from a stranger was a reason to defend your honor.
Please don’t tell my wife and daughter, but on a day-to-day basis, my son is usually the easiest one in the house to handle.
The reality is that there are plenty of times when we, as adults, need to get away from the kids in order to steal a few sobering moments to ourselves.
Worrying never did anything for me. All it did was make the moments before uncertainty worse by filling me with impending dread.
