Pouring My Cup Into His

It doesn’t matter how thirsty I am or how recently I got it. My water is his water.

I may have helped, but his successes were about him doing it, not me teaching him.

In the end, I’m proud to say, no tables were flipped.

It’s easy to be so fixated on one specific victory that we miss all the other ones happening around us.

Forever. No thought. Not even a question. All real parents would say the same.

It wasn’t a secret word anymore. Soon it was just another aspect of our lives and categorized along with all of the other quirks in our family.

When my son was very young and newly diagnosed with Autism, everyone was sure he would be “just fine”.

Just because someone doesn’t like birthday cake doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy their birthday.

The bond you have with your child will be the light that keeps you both moving forward.
