Autism And His Total Lack Of Fear

As his Dad, it makes keeping him out of harm’s way, the hardest job I have, even harder.

They know to never listen if I ask them to smell their food or accept a Hurtz Donut.

Although rarely talked about, it’s one of the strangest parts of parenting.

Believing your kids can do anything is easy. Believing in your own ability to show them how to do those things is hard.

The responsibility I feel has more to do with me than it does with him.

An insatiable appetite, nonverbal autism, and surprising cat-like agility,

He wasn’t doing it for us. He was doing it for himself.

Simply put, he’s mine and I’ll watch over him forever.
