It’s His Favorite Song

When his face lights up, it lifts my spirits in ways I never thought possible.

The things I do for my son aren’t done for his recognition, appreciation, or even attention. They’re done because I love him.

My son may have never said a word to me, but we have spoken in so many more ways than that.

I refuse to leave him sitting in the living room.

Just because I don’t know why he reacts a certain way to something, that doesn’t mean I can’t support him during it.

An insatiable appetite, nonverbal autism, and surprising cat-like agility,

These seemingly “ruined” photos used to cause me grief. Now, I see them for what they truly are…
