I don’t hide my scars. I wear them proudly.
My kid needs me. I owe him.
Words only have power if you let them. When they were pointed at me, I let them.
Broken machines don’t give prizes. Broken people don’t give love.
It can be anything that breaks our spirit, rocks our worlds, or rattles our foundations.
The things I don’t talk about greatly outnumber the things I do.
You go places you never thought you would. You become things you never dreamed.
Others may cut your down, but that doesn’t mean you can’t put yourself back together and grow. I did.
What hurt the most was that I had accepted them.
It’s a path I never expected to travel, but am glad I had the courage to walk it.
